Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Happy New Year! Hope everyone got a little time-off in December.

We had great Christmas here, nice and quiet, just the way I like it. I don’t have to travel anymore this time of year, so I got in some prime sweatpants action. I got Lee-Ann a pasta machine for Christmas, so we’re looking at a carb-filled 2019.

My big gift was a private motorcycle maintenance course, which I’ll be doing in the next few months. Looking forward to a year of riding!

Motorcycles and pasta for 2019. By 2020, I might require wheels to get anywhere.

Movies watched:
Aquaman (2018) – I enjoyed this, but it was not a great movie. Good actors, Mamoa was great. Good CGI, all of the water effects and Atlantis looked great. But the writing was just so, so bad. Worse than you might be thinking. It’s a shame. They had all of the pieces to make something really cool.

The Christmas Chronicles (2018) – This was a cheesy action comedy Christmas special that was mostly held up by Kurt Russell. He was great.

Dumplin’ (2018) – This probably wouldn’t be my first choice, but Lee-Ann really wanted to watch it, and I did end up liking it. A lot of the first half didn’t really gel with me. I feel like they made her a bit too bratty when we were supposed to be on her side, but I was enjoying it by the end.

TV watched:
Nailed It! Holiday!: Season 1 (2018) – More of the same, starting to feel a tiny bit tired, but it’s still a lot of fun.

The Fix: Season 1 (2018) – Panel shows appearing on Netflix might hurt my 2019 productivity. Katherine Ryan is particularly good in this one.

Games played:
Into the Breach (Switch)(2018) – I plan to play quite a bit more of this into the new year. Fun grid-based puzzle/strategy game.

Frostpunk (PC)(2018) – I really felt like playing a city-creation simulator type game and decided on this one. Having a blast so far! Great setting with a cool temperature-management mechanic. A strange mix of relaxing and stressful.

Donut County (PC)(2018) – Adorable game. Straight relaxation with this one, a satisfying mix of destruction and organization. Great soundtrack too, which is actually the same length as the game, something I haven’t really seen before.

Command and Conquer: Rivals (Android)(2018) – Command and Conquer on your phone! This is a surprisingly fun strategy game. A bit like Clash Royale in its progression structure with a more involved game behind it.

Come say hello:

What have you been reading/watching/playing this month?
