That Is Not Dead Which Can Eternal Lie

Today is Cthulhu Day!

… And thus, on the Day of Insanity, when the stars are right, and the Earth is prepared for the infinite horror and madness that is hidden beneath the sea, Cthulhu will, once again, rise from his ancient temple at R’lyeh and, if He sees His shadow, the whole world will shout and kill and revel in joy and there will be 6 more weeks of winter.

To pass the time before Pin the Tail on the Lurking Fear begins, here’s a little song to set the mood:

Project Gutenberg has a ton of Lovecraft stories ripe for the picking. See ya at the shoggoth races!

  1. I still have a bumper sticker in my office that says “Vote for Cthulhu – Don’t settle for the lesser evil!” :)

Unrelated, I picked up that novel Fool by Christopher Moore. I haven’t started it yet, though.

    Haha, that’s a great sticker.

I liked Fool. It took me a while to get into it, and certain bits bugged me (it really felt like an American author writing British characters – most of the colloquialisms felt forced), but overall I really ended up enjoying it. I’d definitely recommend Lamb, if you’re interested in more of Moore (hehe). It’s my favourite of his.

  3. Six more weeks of winter, eh? And I’m waiting for winter to begin…

  4. Rob says:

Your six weeks of winter will be tagged on when the time comes, just you wait, and it will be a proper blizzard of a winter too!
