I stumbled across the artwork of Alberto Cerriteño today. I love the detail, the absurdity, and the child-like nature of his work. Here are a few pieces:

Lastly, here’s a video he directed and animated for a Mexican indie-instrumental band called Austin TV.
The story is based in an original idea of the fine mates from Austin TV, the booklet of the album it comes with a bunch of pages with sketches and stories written by this fictional character named Mario Lupo and the video tells just one of these surreal stories, when he and his xoloscuincle dog, Kerdoc, went to take a walk and accidentally fell in a subterranean magical forest that at the end results in the Devil’s cave. – Alberto Cerriteño’s Blog
