Michael Crichton died today, at the age of 66, as a result of cancer.

I read his book Travels last June, and I found myself really enjoying it, despite it being based largely around his spiritual life and my being firmly grounded in reality. We’ve all seen one or two of his movies, but after reading this I told myself I’d pick up some of his fiction, and I still need to get around to that.

He lived an interesting life, that’s for sure. And he had a dinosaur named after him, the Crichtonsaurus bohlini, so really, what more could you ask for?
