Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Cowgirl in the Sand
January 5, 2008
Neil Young, Canadian legend, really needs no introduction.
I received a new laptop for work on Friday, and I need to transfer all of my files over from my old laptop and set up my development environment by Monday, so I started doing that today. I was trying to listen to Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere while doing so, but I find it incredibly hard to multi-task while this is on. This song makes me want to give up programming, take up the guitar, and release a record that’s just a one hour long guitar solo.

Brilliant.

Don’t know if you’re familiar with xkcd.com, but here’s a link to their cartoons on bands…(stick men!)
Good to see you on mine- wasn’t sure my comment here had registered.
Older son is in IT - currently doing a PhD up in town in Computer Science…
- later episodes of Red Dwarf are well worth seeing…you’re familiar with Blackadder…?
Cheers, and have a good weekend.

Love xkcd. He’s pure genius, as far as I’m concerned.
Couldn’t find you at first, as the URL you’ve provided for your comment is incorrect, but I saw a link to you from another weblog and popped over.
I’ve seen several Blackadders here and there. My dad used to love the show and tape it whenever it was on, but I was a youngin then and was only allowed to watch when my mom was away. The series has been on my to-watch list for ages now, but I have yet to get around to it.

Thanks, Rob - new to this and still a few things I need to check Idiots Complete Guide to Blogging for.
Blackadder is dated, but still very funny - presume its available on DVD. Once drew up alongside Rowan Atkinson in a chauffered limo near the South Coast.

Hi Rob, thanks for visiting my site and commenting. Great tune! First time I’ve seen this DivShare thing. I’m checking it out!

I’ll bump it up on my watching list, Julie. I think if I ever met Atkinson, I’d have a hard time getting Mr. Bean out of my head. I’d almost be disappointed if he didn’t have a tiny suitcase with him and a turkey on his head.
I really like DivShare, Kyklops. Only drawback is the 100MB upload limit, but I imagine you could open a new account or just remove the oldest songs.
It was actually your Neil Young post that prompted my putting on that album.

Neil Young. Awesome.
Pretty much everything makes me want to give up programming, but that’s just me :)
